Likuliku Resort Fiji Re-opens

Fiji’s Likuliku Lagoon Resort is delighted to celebrate its re-opening this week, welcoming guests from all around the world including first guests John and Helen Garrett from Sydney, Australia on their eleventh stay at the award-winning resort.
The re-opening celebrations come just two weeks after Likuliku was awarded Best Overseas Resort in the prestigious Australian Luxury Travel Magazine’s 2013 Gold List Awards for the fourth consecutive year. This tremendous accolade is a significant achievement for the luxury couple’s-only resort, following an extensive F$3M refurbishment to repair the damage sustained during Tropical Cyclone Evan that struck the Mamanuca Islands and the Resort on 17th December 2012.
Group General Manager Steve Anstey commented, “It is hard to put into words what our re-opening means for us and there are so many people we wish to thank. From the builders who restored our beautiful resort and our exceptional staff who have worked tirelessly around the clock to bring it back to life, the travel industry for continuing to support us and of course, to our past and future guests who have also recognised how special this unique resort is.”
Mrs Garrett notes, ”The Lagoon is so peaceful and beautiful”. In 2007 a friend recommended that they visit Likuliku and they have never looked back. “Happy people and wonderful food amidst a beautiful island setting is what we love about Likuliku”.

A number of airlines have dabbled with the idea and more of them started to introduce an expanded “middle” class. Many major airlines have started pushing the trend to catch downgraders and entice upgraders who are not quite ready to splash on frills. They include British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Air France, United Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Cathay Pacific Airways, Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Qantas and Air New Zealand.

Today, airlines such as Cathay Pacific and Qantas are putting much more into this in-between class to give it an exclusivity of its own. It used to sell mainly on wider seats with more recline and legroom, but the perks have been expanded to include a string of priorities at check-in, boarding and baggage delivery on arrival, more generous checked baggage allowances, an apparently more refined meal service on board, a wider screen for in-flight entertainment system, brand-name amenity kits and higher frequent flyer mileage points.

CONRAD KOH SAMUI CELEBRATES ITS FIRST ANNIVERSARY

Conrad Koh Samui, a luxury resort in Thailand, has recently celebrated its first anniversary. The resort has achieved a lot since its launch, and boasts the culinary expertise of Executive Chef Konrad Inghelramwho implemented Michelin- standard dining experiences for guests. SILVER PRIVILEGE FARES AND FARE GUARANTEE

Luxury cruise operator, Silversea, is launching a Silver Privilege Fares Program and Fare Guarantee Program. Guests will be offered the opportunity to select low-fare suites when they book early, and the chance to customise their journey, paying only for what they desire. The new Fare Guarantee Program assures the best available fare for the guest even after the booking has been made. Credit can be given in the form of a suite upgrade, fare reduction, future cruise credit and more. The Fare Guarantee Program is valid from 1 June 2013 and is active for Silver Privilege bookings from 1 November 2012.

SKI FOR FREE IN ST. MORITIZ

Badrutt’s Palace Hotel is offering winter sports enthusiasts a free lift pass with every two night booking. The ‘Grande Dame’ of St. Moritz is giving away tickets for all mountain railways, cable cars and public transport, covering 375km of ski runs, from 1 December to 1 April next year. It’s also giving free transfers to and from Corviglia mountain railway station.
